I try to write songs and end up writing good verses and have a hard time with the chorus. Anybody have any tips?

I have the same problem. What I do is think of something else that goes along with what your verses are saying, but say it in a completely different way. Instead of "you broke my heart", think of a phrase or something that someone said to you and turn it into a chorus.

I don't know where all these thumbs down comes from ... all the suggestions were reasonable ways of creating a chorus ..treat the writing like a job or a class have a set time you must write and keep spinning out words till you get what you need and NEVER throw any idea away ... review them when you need new songs or get stuck they can inspire you

Get someone to write with. Have them do the chorus then polish it off with your verses. Sometimes two heads are better than one. Just give them the theme or movement you are wishing to accomplish.

The hard part is to make yourself keep at it. I agree all songs don't need a chorus, though. Maybe a friend would be good to bounce ideas off.

KISS method: Keep it simple stupid. Write a simple minded chorus and people will never forget it.
