No! not anymore than any other wive's tale. They used to say that because the people with the highest HCG levels were usually the sickest, but they don't account for all the people they didn't test [ the ones with no or moderate morning sickness ].
Tell that lady she is off your list for advice. And a ****, for scaring a pregnant woman!

Only 40% of pregnant woman will actually experience morning sickness.
I was sick as a dog my first pregnancy...I started feeling better around 9-10 weeks...then at my first ultrasound found out I had a missed miscarriage. SO only if you have symptoms and they seem to just disappear before they should, should you be worried. If you don't experience morning sickness at all, well than lucky you!

Count yourself lucky that you have no morning sickness and learn to ignore the advice that others give you throughout your pregnancy, some of it will be pretty out there. Concentrate on having a happy healthy pregnancy and do not let negative comments affect you. Every woman and pregnancy is different. In fact I was told no morning sickness meant you were to have a baby boy. Again this is not substaited advice, just one of the positive comments I had when I was pregnant. Good luck and I wish you a happy healthy pregnancy

Tell her not to give you any pregnancy advice because she obviously doesn't know what she is talking about. When I was 3 weeks along with my daughter last year I got queasy for about 5 minutes after eating a salad, and that is all the "Morning" sickness I had. I got sick once when I was pregnant with my son on cream of wheat, and the smell of Shell gas. That was it. I jusr wanted to add that I am the youngest of 4 kids. My mom NEVER had morning sickness with any of us at all. I had 3 early miscarriages before having my son and I had SEVERE morning sickness with all 3 of those pregnancies.

It is NOT true. When I was pregnant with my daughter I didn't have a single moment of sickness. I am now 38 weeks pregnant (with a boy) and have had very little sickness. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was told my back pain was a sign of miscarriage - but it didn't turn out to be!
Good Luck with your pregnancy - and remember for everyone it is different.

She sounds like the 17-year-old pregnant and non-nauseated wacko who told me that if you have morning sickness it means you subconsciously don't want the baby because you're trying to throw it up. (I swear, some of the wrong people are having kids.)
I've had morning sickness with and without miscarriage. One has absolutely nothing to do with the other, although I think for your own mental well-being you need to avoid this chick as much as possible. Hang in there.

The lady at work needs to shut her mouth. Next time she decides to give medical advice ask her where she graduated from medical school. No morning sickness and miscarriage rates are not tied together. Do not worry about others negativity.

omg that lady is trying to scare you. don't worry. THIS IS NOT TRUE. not everyone experience morning sickness or signs of pregnancy in early pregnancy. Some women don't have any at all. They're just lucky. doesn't mean u will have a miscarriage. don't listen to her.

What a horrible spiteful person!! I have only had about 3-4 days worth of sickness my whole pregnancy, I'm 33 weeks along. My little boy is entirely healthy and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks!!
I did hear however that if you don't have a lot of sickness you were having a boy and if you had lots of sickness it was a girl...ya know those ol wives tales=). It was true for me, but don't know how often they are. Good Luck with your little one!

morning sickness is only felt by 50-85% of women, miscarriage rates are not as high as 50-15% haha. Relax, and do what I did, ignore most of what other people said because most of the time its annoyingly unhelpful, especially in the early half of the pregnancy.
