Have you ever started writing an answer to a question, with a really big explanation & then finally when you are done, & are about to send it, the questionare choses a best answer & it won't except yours. That just happened to me, & I definetly would have gotten best answer. All that hard work for nothing!

First of all you don't decide what the best answer is. The amount of work you put into an answer is immaterial. Your answer is only as good as the questioner thinks it is.
If your only motivation for answering a question is to get best answer you are missing out on the opportunities to learn and the gratifying feeling of actually having helped someone.

I have and when I realized it would not post, I went back to see what the choice was. When I thought that my perspective and answer offerred the asker more information and felt they could use it, I just posted a new questions stating that it was for that individual. That was the point afterall, to offer them the information they were looking for, not the points.

No. But I have written a long detailed answer and then reread the question to find I had misinterpreted the question. I don't care if I haven't posted it. But if I have I feel like an idiot and hurry back to delete it.

I had that happen to me yesterday, I even went and found the sources that I used to learn the information. I only missed it by 8 seconds.

I know ALL about that. If you type in 'edit' to hold a spot, inevitably one of the trolls gives you a thumbs down. Ya can't win.

omg yes!! like i knew the answer so i started writing and by the time i was done i clicked on preview and sumbit and it said the question was resolved :/

hahaha... that happened to me once and i never clicked the internet explorer icon for 1 week and i actually practiced typing quickly. now, i'm back with vengeance harharhar

Go back and click on the question again and see if its there. There's crabby delete happy people tonight I'm seeing... Probably got deleted.

No, but sometimes I write a nice big explination and then erase it because I don't like it. :)
