It seems like there are several gay encounters with the republicans. Mark Foley as an example.
Being a person that does not care which way someone bats, doesn't it seem slightly, just a little wee bit hypocritical that the party that is obsessed with gaydom, is....well gay?
Who woulda thunk?
I am sure there are some gays on the left. good for them it is after all a FREE COUNTRY. But when an assembled group goes out of there way to take a stance, it just seems illogical to have so many gay folk in the "manly man" party. All of course against the "family values" theme.
odd.

In a free country, we would not constantly be relinquishing our freedom in exchange for security -- People would know that the greatest threat to their security comes from their own government.
In a free country, there would be no Selective Service System -- Threats of a draft would meet with furious resistance, not lame justifications.

You miss the point as usual. The whole anti-gay movement wasn't even started by the anti-gays. The gays started it themselves. Normal thinking people, though there are isolated cases, never said a thing about it. Most non-gays always took the attitude "Do what you want. Just don't ask for us to say it perfectly normal or natural." The overwhelming majority of non-gays treated gays as humans. It is possible to despise homosexuality without despising the homosexual.
However, the gays have always taken the millitant attitude. The thing you always see buried on the news in the liberal media is the destruction of private property that is done every time the homosexuals have their so-called peaceful rallies.
Your description misses the point completely. Most murderers won't say it is okay or natural. Most thieves won't. Most aldulterers won't. The queers should quit expecting for people to think immoral behavior is okay or natural.

Short answer: Yes.
Longer answer: LGBT persons do not enjoy equal rights with the majority straight population. There is of course the marriage issue, but the smaller inequalities bother me more since they often go unnoticed by both the gay and straight members of our society.
I’m talking about things like holding hands in public. Unless you are in a gay area of a large city, it’s exceedingly difficult for two men to show affection by holding hands. Don’t even think of kissing.
Everything that prevents me from living as comfortably open with my sexuality as a straight person does theirs is a form of homophobia. We all have some of it, gay and straight. As long as there is any homophobia, the US will not be free for me.

This country has never been free (Slavery, McCathyism, Segregation...). I don't see why we brag about it being "Free", they have more freedom in Europe. The only right that we have that they don't is the right to have a gun and incite racial hatred (which is illegal there and quite rightly so), and that's not exactly something to be proud of is it?
And screw the republicans, all politticians are hypocritical mororns.

I wish I could adequately tell you how I've come to dislike gross generalities. I dont care who is gay as long as they dont try to turn me. Most of the gay men I know are ten times as manly as most of the macho men who think it's ok to beat their women up. They are also some of the best fathers I know. What does America being a free country have to do with your question? Do you know anything about which you speak?

If its a free country your looking for I'd have to say Canada has more freedom, more respect for each other...more laws protecting us from being oppressed or taken advantage of.

Compared to many other countries, we are actually much better off when it comes to freedom. However, I think we still have a ways to go to be considered "free."

Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Americans are not free to visit their neighbor: Cuba,
nor to smoke Cuban cigars with a neighbor: Canada.
Americans are side tracked by many sides wars,
and gay vs straight is just one of many such wars,
of all those puffed up with law to left vs right sides,
is biblically them vs them "opposes themselves",
is a recoverable mental illness: bi-polar dis-order.
War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing.
It's a friend only to the Under-Taker: Law.
Grace neither makes nor takes sides,
knowing the side effect is a dead end,
their end, by law: ministration of death.
Law and Odor: Pew: the Smell of Death.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
