Real meaning comes from living for a real purpose. Real purpose answers questions such as, "what was I put here on earth to do" or "what was I meant to do here?". Obviously, real purpose requires a Creator/God.

Many people confuse "what was I meant to do?" with "what can I do that will get me through life in the face of the utter pointlessness of life?" The answers here will generally tell you to find/invent something that makes you feel good about yourself. We then confuse the good feeling we get from real and imagined praise with the good feeling we get from living for a real purpose.

To love and be loved...if you think about it, this covers a wide range, not just sex, or a significant other.
