The FCC cracked down on this a few years ago, but since then I don't think they've been doing a very good job.

It's not the governments job to tell us wat to watch or not watch.

If you don't like the show, turn the channel.

But, when you do, don't tell me I have to turn it because YOU don't like it. Maybe I don't mind the language and am enjoying the rest of the show.

You know, this brings up a point that bugs me. We are in a very DANGEROUS place in this countries history. We are at the point where someone says, "I don't like this (whatever their pet peve happens to be) and because I dona't like it, by God YOU are never going to do it again."

What happened to live and let live. What ever happened to mind your OWN business? What ever happened to Majority Rules instead of lobbists getting their minority ways passed through? It is time for We the People to take back the country and make majority rule the way of life it was meant to be.

g-day!

Because so many people like it, which makes the ratings go up, and the tv companies care about money and nothing else. I don't think the government should be responsible for what goes on TV, it is controlled by how many people watch it. So my suggestion would be try to stay away from it, and if you keep expectantly come upon, I would complain to the tv company before you blame it on the government.

I think kekionga's last paragraphs are great,

Because we've become a society with no moral compass, no respect for human decency, and little humility, modesty or courtesy.
If the government were to censor all the sex and profanity on TV, lawsuits over "free speech" would flood the courts. Why? Because people mistakenly believe that they have the "right" to "free speech' using any four-letter words or offensive language they so choose. That's not what the First Amendment is about: the First Amendment is about being able to speak freely against a tyrannical and oppressive government.
But we've become so casual and callous that we believe it's our "right" to offend people with gutter language, filthy gestures, and offensive public actions. In fact, all we've managed to do is degrade ourselves and diminish the caliber of our society. We've turned into 300,000,000 garbage-mouthed shock-jocks who think its funny, tough, or sensational when we can spew forth with vulgarity. It, unfortunately, only serves to demean us among ourselves and around the world.
By the way, airforcebabe696, your rude remarks are base, shoddy and uncalled for; juvenile jabs only show your own ruthlessness and nescience. I hope you remember what you've said in 50 or 60 years when you're a 75-year-old dork and someone insults you. I'm sure your mother must be proud of such disrespectful offspring. -RKO- 08/17/07

The government already censors way to much. The question should be, why a girl getting her head blown off can be on TV, while a girl making love can not.
What kind of message do we send when love making is a sin, and violence is not.

Individual responsibility and decisions. If you don't like what is on, turn it off or change the channel. Our demand that the government control everything we as individuals don't like is about as over the top as political correctness. We ask the government to control and limit everything and then cry that they take choice away from us.

You know, I'm not a prude or anything. But, they do go way too far now. I mean they had this young gay couple getting married and kissing on MTV. I mean, I have nothing against being gay at all, but I'm not ready for my young son to see two men or women kissing on TV and getting married, when he doesn't even understand heterosexual relationships! You know. It seems that they started taking little risk with words, like ***, *****, etc. Now, it's just out of control. Every thing has a sexual undertone. And, if it was just adults watching TV, fine.. but children are subjected to this without warning any more and it's gone way too far.

Free speech. Though I think it is overused term and we should have limits. Like that pedophile with the blog.

If you don't like it. Don't watch it. Don't let your kids watch it. And encourage those around you not to watch it.

The government should have a very small place in regulating the airwaves.
