The under-fire Portuguese police are preparing to take a fresh look at reports of two earlier break-ins in the apartment block where Madeleine McCann and her family stayed.

Both burglaries - one in the apartment directly above the McCann's flat - are understood to have happened two weeks before the family of five arrived at the Mark Warner Ocean Club in Praia da Luz.

One was believed to have been committed by someone with a key to the burgled apartment.

Louise - there is indeed, and I agree.

Possibly to identify the mystery egg faced man as a burglar and not abductor? Or to match the unknown DNA from the McCann apartment with DNA from the burgled flat. Maybe a burglar did go into the apartment on the night of 3rd May - a burglar would assume 'they're all in the Tapas, kids in the creche - easy pickings' and the doors were all open after all....

It's getting late, and I can't think. You'll probably get better answers than this....

Who ever was robbing the apartments either works at, or is related to a person that works on the resort. Inside job.

All the staff on that complex should have been interviewed and DNA'd at the time the break in's were happening. Then we might know who's blood that is that they found.

I think Madeleine, bless her, was taken by someone connected to that resort & now there is a wall of silence.

It's an inside job & considering some of the waiting staff contradicted the times given by the McCanns for checking their kids, I would start there. The Tapa's bar.

Can't really say can we, but I would be interested to know what they mean by

"clarify details that may be relevant to the new line of inquiry, in the light of facts we have found".

I get the feeling there is definitely something that isn't in the public domain because they keep reiterating that the McCanns aren't suspects even though the Cadaver dogs found a scent in the room.

I'm not sure. The hotel staff at Mark Warner's did express concern to the Mccann's about the prior break ins and even offered a baby monitor which they also refused.

Yes and I believe the McCanns were advised of the recent burglaries and that was one of the reasons they were advised by the resort to have a babysitter. Makes it doubly difficult to understand why they refused.

Bored? I am horrified that there are people who would ask over 2300 questions about a tragic family who may have lost a child to a paedophile killer.

Perhaps you stopped taking your medication, start again ASAP

Amnesia blonde - take your own advice, little trolling brat, and shove it up your own - if you can fit anything else up it, considering the amount of room your head takes up. Moron.

That's odd news, Vic.
