Barney Miller was a great show! Season 1 is available on DVD, uncut and commercial-free. I still wish they would release it to sindication. Who could forget that opening bass-line? Classic TV!!!

I can't believe there's another Barney Miller fan out there!!! I just loved that show when it was on. All of the characters were likable and so funny. Yes, I have to admit I had a huge crush on Wojohowicz. One big disappointment I have had is that I heard a radio interview on one of my local stations with Hal Linden--TOTAL JERK!! He was so smug and full of himself. Just goes to show you, just because you play a nice guy on TV doesn't mean that's the real person you are seeing. As far as the show not being shown on TV Land, it's probably either too expensive to syndicate or the powers that be just don't think it would draw enough of an audience. Another favorite of mine, that used to play on the History Channel, is China Beach. The stories were so compelling. That's where I first saw Marg Helgenberger. Anyway, I hope you get your Barney Miller fix...have you tried seeing if it's available on DVD? If so, you may want to try your local library. My friend rents DVD's from there all of the time.

The last time I saw it on TV Land was about five years ago during Thanksgiving or Christmas. They ran a Barney Miller marathon and I really enjoyed it. If you ask me, I think their lineup sucks these days.
