The nature of the ant and the type of chemicals we now have.

1. I assume you have not washed the area that your sprayed. Washing removes any residual.

2. Ants can find their way around the sprayed area. They are very acute in detecting danger .

3. An ant colony is huge, killing the guys at the door still leaves hundreds if not thousands behind, down in the nest including the queen who is still laying eggs.

4. To kill ants you need to kill the queen and that is by enticing the workers to take the old lady some nice poisoned food.............or eliminating all food sources around your home and sealing all entrances.

5. The chemicals sold OTC do not have the same residual effect that the pro pest control folks use. They use a combo approach, spray and bait. Try adding baits to your regime...you gotta kill the queen and she's beyond liquid chemical reach.

I know what works wonders for ants, or atleast it worked for me. I had moved into my friends parents house a few years ago and her brother had left a whole bunch of food and crumbs all in the room I moved into and there were ants EVERYWHERE, literally everywhere in that room. Well I found some flea and tick spray that they had and I sprayed about everywhere in that room and washed everything I could and moved everything and vacuumed every place that I could and I had absolutely no more ants. It was like a miracle, cause there were atleast 1,000 ants in there and the spray killed them instantly. Try that and keep the place clean and hopefully it'll work for you like it did me!

Spray your baseboards around the walls in the whole room. In fact, do it in every room. We use RAID. You might have to do this more than once the first week, then make sure you do it once per month to keep it under control.

Another thing is to find where they are coming in. Spray in the hole and then stop it up with something so they cannot get out. This works very well too.
