Well, I am a muslim, it's no way my conscience will allow me to live together with a man w/o getting married, even my conscience cant allow me to be with a man in one closed room. Beside which I am scared anyway.
Romantic feeling??
I dont know some years from now. My lovely husband just died 20 months ago, I still cant think for another man so far.
I even feel guilty just thinking about it.
We were always together, I knew and know he was very faithfull, and all his life in our marriage was devoted to me.

Con's = lowers one of their social security pension if married
Pro's = if they just live together as man and wife without the benefit of a legal marriage, they get to keep their salaries with no cuts
That would be the only reason not to get married.

If both parties are getting SS-it doesnt leave much of an option. If you get married, you lose one of the benefits. I remember how shocked we all were when we found out our mother was living with her "friend". Here they were in their 70's and we were being judgmental. I have a roomie, but he is just that. We split the rent on a place neither of us could afford alone. If I ever find a man who is still upright and continent, there will be no marriage.

Estate planning could be a problem when leaving money to children from previous marriages. Social Security payments will be reduced.
However, if they plan to leave the bulk of their estate to their partner, marriage would be of benefit, as entire estates can pass tax-free to the surviving spouse. Unmarried couples need to write air-tight wills and other legal documents to make up for this major penalty.

Wow Jennyann, these blocks are only so big! lol
I go with living together....
pros - companionship, friendship, lover, handy person, financial independence, no children feeling threatened
cons - none that I can see when you're older unless you're just out for the money
will leave it at that!

Well, one set of my grandparents had married each other and divorced 3 times. Now, they're just living together. I don't know about the pros and cons, but for them it's better to just live together. I don't know why.

that's against my religious and private ideals. i've got confidence a marriage must be between a organic guy and organic lady, meaning no longer gay, nor via intercourse variations. I had a pal in extreme college, an extremely solid pal that became gay. He became between the perfect acquaintances I ever had. He exceeded faraway from AIDS interior the 90s. I omit him. I by no capacity judged him, it became no longer my place even although i did no longer agree together with his way of existence, that became for him to respond to to, as all of us ought to respond to for our lives sometime. i'm no longer the perfect choose or any choose for that count.

As a woman I would say, if you can find somebody that watches the same TV shows as you, like the same food, enjoy each others families and a man that has good bathroom manners, I'd say grab a hold of him. If not it pays to have your own homes so you will have a retreat!!

There are lots of pro's but I could not do that. I don't want to set a bad example for my grandchildren when their parents and I have taught them that sex before marriage is a sin.
