Ofcourse! Concierge level does provide free water and "finger foods" like crackers but never full meals which is one of the best things about going on vacation! :)

The food offer for concierge level guests is always pretty great. I don't think I would skip the dining plan all together because of concierge, but I think they compliment each other nicely.

They do have good selections of food, but it really isn't what you would want to eat for an entire meal. It is more snack type foods, appetizers, etc. as well as drinks. Again, very tasty, but not quite a meal.

Since you only get one counter service and one table service meal per day, most people don't think they will have enough food (really the dining plan gives more than enough food, at least this year anyway, it will change a little next year) Some people use the sit down points for a character breakfast, but it is best to use it for dinner to more for your money. If you are staying at concierge level you can eat a few snacks and things to tie you over it needed. It is also great to start out in the morning since you can run in, get some breakfast and then head to the parks. That way, you can use your dining plan points for lunch and dinner, and you are covered.

The other problem, is that you have to be at the resort in order to take advantage of the concierge food. If you plan to spend much time at the parks going back to the resort to get a snack can be a bit of a pain, even if you have the monorail as an option. With the dining plan you can have your meal in the park you are in so you don't have to take too much time away from your park time.

Basically, if you plan to eat at any restaurants while you are at Disney, the dining plan should really be a benefit for you. Everything will be paid for and ready to go, so you don't have anything to worry about. I would use the concierge food as snacks during the day, and get the dining plan so you can have a few nicer meals as well.

Hope this helps!

Have a great time!

This really depends if you're going this year or next as there are significant changes to the Disney Dining Plan coming in 2008.

There will be two plans: the basic plan that exists now (with major modifications) and the deluxe plan.

With the current basic plan, one major change is gratuities will no longer be included with the plan. Also, appetizers are no longer included - you get just the entree and dessert.

The new deluxe plan which is almost twice as much is like the premium package plan in that you will get 3 meals a day including appetizers (any combination of CS/TS locations) + 2 snack credits per person per day + 1 refillable mug (about a $13 value) for each person on the plan. So ultimately it seems the better deal.

The real issue is value. Even the regular dining plan is a whole lot of food. I've been on the DDP once when it was offered for free and while I enjoyed it, it was way too much for me - so much so that even going at the time it's offered for free isn't enough of an incentive for me. Of course that varies from family to family.

What I suggest is a little bit of math and see if you can determine if it's the best option for you.

You can see current menus and pricing at http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

Remember, in 2007, appetizers and tips are included. In 2008, only appetizers are included only in the Deluxe Dining Plan

The 2008 edition of the Passporter which is due out at the end of November does a good job at explaining the two options and the other additions (like the Wine & Dine plan) as well as analyzes when it's a good deal.

The dining plan is ALWAYS worth it unless you are getting freee meals from somewhere else. I promise, if you plan it right, you'll have more than enough food and maybe some left! I do it every year. Take the meal plan!

If you want to eat in your room each night, then I guess no. If you want to dine through out the parks, yes.

It is an absolutely great deal! You don't always stay in your room at Disney!
