How long do these little pests live?

There are different types of flies. This late summer is not necessarily filth house flies. They may be a short term fly...still a pain in the toot. Do all the usual sealing, check screens, etc and then hang fly paper........ugly but nontoxic. If you have a hand vacuum, seek them out as they crash about the window and suck them up. A tiny squirt TINY SQUIRT of household aerosol bug killer at the end will keep them in the hand vac until you empty the dead ones out. You could also get diatomaceous earth and vacuum up a bit......a pinch..at the end.

If these are fruit flies, get rid of all fruit and sweet smelling items. Put a small bowl or lid of vinegar in each rooms.
