It is evident he is every where and in everything. When we look at the stars we can see the evidence of God. Some say that a big bang happened and that is how all of the stars are out there that they are particals of matter and gasses. I say this to them... How is it that even with us moving around the sun in the universe how do we still see the same stars every night? It is because God made them to go the same speed as OUR planet. thee other planets dont travel as ours but ours travels as the stars do... God made them that way to help us understand that there is order and direction in the universe and that is by Him. Tell me what you think... You cant say we dont see the same stars every night... Big Dipper? Little Dipper? tell me your thoughts.

Your understanding of the cosmos is naive in the exteme. The stars don't follow us around. They are so far away that Earth's motion around the sun is insignificant relative to their position. Our orbital motion only affects which stars we see in which season. They're not the same stars every night, but change slowly with the seasons.Yes, in the north we see the dippers year-round, but you haven't seen Leo lately, have you.

As for religious faith, we each believe whatever best helps us makes sense of the world. You aren't going to gain any converts to whatever you believe by displaying your childish ignorance in a science forum. Rather, you reinforce the impression that religious believers believe nonsense.

1) It's no effort at all to disbelieve in something that has no evidence that it exists.

2) I don't. And I've spent a lot more time looking at the stars than you have, being an astronomer and all.

3) There's a bit more to it than that.

4) That's very obvious even to the ancient people. You might want to take an astronomy course.

5) No, the stars aren't moving at the same speed as the Earth. Like I said, take an astronomy class.

6) Those are circumpolar constellations. Most aren't.

> When we look at the stars we can see the evidence of God

You've asked this in a Science category and not "Religion & Spirituality." So, here's the answer.
We're hard-wired to be spiritual and religious. Different religions arose independently all over the world.

But -- the worship of the god of Abraham originated only once. If you hadn't been told about the god of Abraham by someone else, you would not have come up with Him by yourself.

You can look at the stars all you like, and feel a connection, or feel that there's something greater than you, and maybe even invent your own set of supernatural spirits. But if you hadn't been told about the god of Abraham, you would not know about Him. Therefore, God isn't obvious, and it's easy not to believe in Him. Half the world's population don't believe in Him.

Have a nice day.

god makes it easy for us athiests to not believe in him. with the suprising lack of evidence for his existence. and the example of the stars you gave. WTF was that?

all the observable stars that we see.

i dont know where to begin because there are so many inaccuracies with what you said.

ok, we revolve around the sun. and if the earth didnt rotate and didnt revolve around the sun the stars would not move, no matter how long you waited. so the fact that we see the same stars night after night is the result of the stars staying in the same position.

you also said that it is evident, evident, that god is everywhere and in everything. yet you only gave one example. just one. there is a conch shell sitting on my desk right now, and god is not popping out in my face.

i cant imagine where else there is proof that god exists. is it how all of the people are kind and caring? i dont know about you but my wallet is always in my pocket where i can feel it.

wait, im re reading you question now for like the 20th time and im seeing that you think that the stars are revolving around our sun. if that is so then you are severely undereducated. i just dont understand.

you ask why people like me try hard to not believe in god while people like me, or at least just me ask. why do you try so hard to stretch little things that might not even be true and turn it into evidence that god exists.

finally i would like to say that it is a fact that stars are a collection of gases and everything that has mass is considered "matter"

alright.

FIN

We'd see the same stars every night even if we were on one of the other planets in our solar system. In fact, we would see exactly the same constellations if we were on Pluto as we do here. Those other stars are far enough away that their motions are very hard to detect. And no, they do not move at the same rate as the earth, or the sun for that matter.

So, I ask you: why do people work so hard to believe in a God? They will even make up incorrect 'facts' rather than look at what is true.

According to the Christian faith, people are born sinners, opposed to God, and quite naturally reject him and reject having faith in him. That is the real answer to your question.

As far as the big bang goes, that's a scientific theory and has nothing to do with the existence of God. (Although some people latch onto scientific theories as reasons not to believe in God, which is a bit foolish, since science is by its nature ephemeral.)

The reason we see the same stars each night is not because they travel at the same speed. In fact they travel at all different speeds. It's because they're so far away that you don't notice them moving even after a long period of time. The moon is very close, astronomically speaking, so you can see the differences in position from one night to the next. Planets are a bit further away, so you might notice the shift in a week. Stars are astronomically far away so you don't notice the shift in position even over your entire lifetime. Over thousands of years, though, even stars do change position.

PS I forgot to mention that you should really post questions like this in the religion section, not science!

With respect to what you believe, belief is not evidence. Actually a lot of your evidence is flawed. I have posted an article that addreses much of your question and it has nada to do with a creator.

In the latter part of your post you are stating your BELIEF not evidence to the existence of a creator.

Now having said that, I cannot answer for all people, but as for myself, I do not TRY not to believe, I simply have not seen anything that lends credibility to the belief that there is one omniscient, omnipotent being responsible for all things. I can keep an open mind to the possibility, but I find it hard to believe that such a being is the one outlined in the Bible, Torah, Koran, etc. as all of the aforementioned do not paint the picture of an omniscient being.

Now I know your question did not site the God mentioned in these texts, but seldom is such a question posed by anyone other than a monotheistic religious pratictioner, so I am trying a little harder to answer this question (sincerely).

You're taking apron yourself to decide what people believe and don't believe. I agree with your opinion that the hand of God is everywhere but this is not a question, it's a statement and no matter how many times you throw in things about the planets and stars it does not belong in the Astronomy and Space section.

People don't try hard at all, people find answers easy and fast, it is evident that God does not exist. Anyone with a college degree knows God is fake, imaginary and not real at all. Ghosts, Angels, Demons, dont exist either. Nobody can answer where God came from. Why bother entering a religion when the priest and pastor has no clue where God came from. Maybe you need to look into science more and less into religion. God does not talk to any religion in this world, not muslims, not jews, not christians, NOBODY. It's a simple fact. It's like religious people trying to keep the story of Santa real and alive. Get over it seriously. I prayed all the time. God says just ask you will recieve. Nothing is impossible for God. If that's true, why can't I fly? why am i not rich? why doesn't God cure HIV/AIDS and cancer? God doesnt do anything, nobody benefits from him. It's all a joke and a fraud/scam situation. Those are my thoughts and what i think.

Im sorry, but your just making the religious look bad. I believe in god. But, we DO NOT see the same stars every night. The stars you mentioned are constants that don't change in relation to the earth, unlike other stars. Yes, god is evident, but he's given us better proof than the stars, for gods sake. (No Pun Intended) Please, just leave aethiests alone and stop making religious people look bad. I'm muslim, and even we don't screw it up like you do. As a muslim, we belive that science and god coexist, that god could have easily created everything through scientific and logical means.
