well honestly nothing would go wrong. I hate taking them when I have my period too... I feel gross, but the thing is you need to keep your south region clean. The worse that could happen is when your shower (if you period is heavy) you may notice a little blood on your leg. Nothing huge. Just clean down there right before you jump out of the shower and you'll be all squeaky clean!

Hi, often your body stops or minimizes your flow once you enter the shower or bathtub. Not sure how your body knows how to do this but it does. This occurs with sexual intercourse as well. Again, it may not stop the flow completely but it will for sure be less. Washing your vaginal area is important when your on your period and when your off. Try wiping it while on the toilet first, with tissue and a wet wipe you can throw away. If you wish you can wear a tampon in the shower, but I don't because I don't feel like I can clean the vaginal area right with a string in the way. Do what makes you comfortable, and keep it clean!!!!!

What exactly are you worried about? That might help us answer. There's nothing physical to stop you from taking a shower (a bath I could see, but a shower I'm kind of stumped about).

I usually use tampons and keep one in while showering, but every now and then I forget to replace it before getting in. In that case, I just am extra careful to rinse down there a little more right before getting out and sit down on the toilet and use toilet paper to wipe away any blood, then insert the next tampon. No big deal.

(I also always do a quick rinse-down of the shower when I'm about to get out, no matter what is going on with my body, to help keep in clean, so I've never left any sort of evidence...)

Really, it's not like the opening scene in Carrie, you won't be flowing red rivers down the drain!

Okay, taking a shower during your period is probably the most important time to take a shower. It's no different than being out of the tub, just wear a tampon if you're seriously that uncomfortable. If you use pads, well.. sure, a little bit of blood may drip out occassionally but it doesn't gush out like a faucet, you know.. so just shower.. plain and simple!

Wear a tampon while bathing/showering. Nothing will happen, nothing will go wrong. Hygiene must be kept up while on your period. Going without washing during the length of your period is unsanitary.

Are you serious? That kind of grosses me out, thinking of not showering the entire time I have my period.
Nothing will go wrong. If you don't want to see blood while you're showering, wear a tampon and you'll be fine.

Girl, showering is really important during your period. Just wear a tampon or not, if you do not maybe a few drops of blood might come out nothing big.

ahhh thats gross (sorry) but you need to shower during your period. i'm sure having all that blood down there you might be at risk for SOME kind of bacteria growth...i mean come on its dried blood that isnt good for anyone. if you shower, you wont see any blood cuz when you shower the water pressure/temperature (idk) it stops the flow of ur period for liek 20-30mins. nothing will go wrong. expect having a clean body and expect feeling good when you go outta the show.

you NEED to shower or bathe during a period!!.... nothing can go wrong!!... other than you taking on a not so good aroma!.... who told you to not shower or bathe?... they were WRONG!!!.... when you bathe, the body automatically stops the blood flow, so it's not in your bath water!... and if you shower, it doesn't run down your leg, either!!.... you'll have time once you step out, to dry down before you need to put back your pad or tampon... but you need to be clean.... sponge bathing don't get it... sure, it may clean up the area some, but your whole body is just OOZING hormones and pheremones and you shouldn't be skipping the bathing!!....

There isn't anything that could go wrong when taking a shower while menstruating. It's important to keep your feminine area clean, and it decreases your chance for an infection.
