"It" was a tour de force. It was very long, but I didn't mind that. It touched on almost every fear that we could have as human beings. It really demonstrated something that King does, I think, better than anyone else. King is in touch with the personality organization of multiple age groups. In "It" we meet these people who are now grown up and King can recreate the mind sets of some of these characters as young children around 5 and most of them extensively as adolescents. He has done much with his understanding of adolescents in many of his books. He is so dead on; he is my favorite author..

The book is better than the movie, and one of my most favorite Stephen King books ever. It is the reason for clowns freaking me out. I liked clowns as a child. No more.

I liked it and most stories by Stephen King. I think he is very good at characterization.

One thing I thought was funny about the mini-series of "It" that I don't remember being in the book was when they were supposing that the reason people would see things all throughout Derry and not just in the sewers. They figured the creature must emit something into the air that they all breathed to make them hallucinate. One of them remarks "I always thought there was something in the Derry air (sounds like derrière).

I loved it, but it scared me to death.

I never saw the movie, but I can tell you that I didn't sleep the entire summer I read that book. It was terrifying! I was about 14, and man I was spooked. When I would tell people about it, it would sound just stupid. But when you put Stephen King to the task of making it creepy, he passed. By a long shot.

My friend read it last year I think. She said it was really good, really creepy (she's that type of person). I think it made her afraid of clowns now... lol. She was telling me about it and the story seems interesting. I'd probably never get around to reading it though.

A very, very long story. Stephen King knows how to write a page turner, and this was one of his better ones. My favorite story of his is from the Richard Bachmann series, which is a collection of four stories he wrote under that name. It's called "The Long Walk" and in my opinion this is one story of his that should definitely be made into a movie.

It is great. A similar story by king - "friendship theme" - is Dream Catcher. My favorite of his, by far, is The Stand, second is Fire Starter (less s know but awesome), and the It.
