I made iGoogle my home page, and ever since then it is slow to come up. REAL slow! Computer is newer, and I have no problems with anything else. Even the iGoogle mail is fine, notification is fine etc. All but the home page.
Thanks for any tips/help. At this point it does not seem worth the effort.

I will try "cleaning" house a little and see if that helps. Thanks!!

Honest folks -I have nothing else open.
Clean as a whistle at this point. No gadgets, widgets etc nothing!! This am it did come up faster. Stange enough, just yesterday I uninstalled an expiered word office trial and installed a new office. I can't imagine what that could have had to do with it..or perhaps it is just a coincidence....??? We shall see if the good news continues.

I was having the same problem and, believe it or not, I traced the bottleneck to - get this - the weather gadget and, weirder still, the Fort Myers weather forecast. When I removed that forecast (I had two other cities whose weather was included), everything was just fine. Stranger than fiction. An easy way to document this - load the page, and watch which gadget seems to stop rendering in midstride - there's your weak link. For me, I'd see the first two cities weather info load quickly and then it would stop for 6 or 7 seconds, while the last city's data was fetched.

I have 5 browsers and customised each one for the kind of search im doing for example if im doing lots of basic script/text search then I have a set one of my browsers by disableing all the pictures, java, flash, etc and if you do this, you will notice a vast improvement in your surfing, also other browsers are just faster than others and my preference in searching with out disabling anything is when I use Firefox which is very fsat, very secure and more customisable than IE7 http://freefirefoxsoftware.blogspot.com

do you have an ebay gagdet open?
some of the ebay gadgets slow the homepage down because they have to retrieve data from ebay's website.
this ebay tracker gadget is very efficient and is recommended by both ebay and google.

hope this helps
