hormonal changes, if we're talking about the same thing as 'the mask of pregnacy'.... white gals get a darkish line down their tummy and sometimes a deeper color on their face (the mask)... if you're a dark skinned lady, then I can see the soft tissue reacting that way, too.... here's a site that explains it more...

Pregnancy makes women's hormones change. A lot of women get what is called hyper pigmentation-an increase of skin color in some areas (armpits,nipples,genital area). Some women get a patchy red face known as the mask of pregnancy. Some women get a black line going down their stomach called Linea nigra. After the pregnancy is over, and the hormones go back to normal,the skin changes usually go away.

i have nver met a pregnant lady with black armpits but i would assume it has a lot to do with the hormone changes

If this is a real situation see your doctor as soon as possible. that is not an average response to a female body changes. It might be different for different races of women though what nationality are you?

It is your hormones that are making the skin turn a darker color in that spot. It will go away soon after your baby is born.
