Go to your court house and ask to look up all the people who lived there, see if there's a clue for you. Why do you ask????
Another thing you might want to do is ask all you surrounding neighbors and see what you can find out, I'll bet this is where you will find your answer, get your speech ready, keep it short and to the point.

It could true, I live in a house that was built in 1927 and have no problems. Of course, we smudged the whole house before we moved in.
There is always a chance that something has left a strong energy and that could contribute to the house maybe having a ghost
