Do you mean a foreign-born person who is not a citizen of this country or a visitor from another planet? Both are aliens in the true meaning of the word.

Firstly, how would I recognise the former kind in our multiethnic population?

Secondly, how would I recognise an alien from another planet? Perhaps there are living forms on other planets which are undetectable by our limited human senses and intelligence and which have no similarities whatsoever to earthly human beings. All life on Earth is simply the product of chemical and physical actions and reactions of earthly elements. We exist on a planet that is a merest pinprick in the Universe so it is most unlikely that we are in the Premier League of lifeforms. When we search for such things as water and carbon on other planets to indicate past or present life as we know it we primitively presume that there can be no other form of life around. Does it matter? Let us get our own earthly house in order before we play space games.

I've met quite a few, I usually ask them if they are enjoying their stay in America, Normal stuff, how long they are here for, where from, that sort of thing, that's if they speak reasonable English. I've found most people who visit the US speak good English, at least can communicate. Just seems like some dont like to let on they do.

Now if your talking about a being from another planet, and not another country, O ****!

Hi,
I would say:

" Hi, can I come aboard, we can talk to each other somewhere else where there's not going to be some one who's going to try to put you in a science lab and experiment on them."
