This took place maybe in his home or something...I think their was a helicopter flying around him too. The more time that passes...the more it seems like it is just my imagination. Anyone ever seen it?

I think you're describing a episode of a show called "Darkroom".It was kind of like a "Tales from the Darkside"kind of thing.I remember that episode well,because it creeped me out.This guy has a son and some how the boy gets a box of toy soldiers.He starts to play with them and his Dad soon realizes that they are being arranged in the same way that him and his friends had left some of the villages in Vietnam.He tries to destroy them,but they fight back(I remember the copter)and I think they kill him,but i could be wrong.Great episode and great show that got canceled too soon in my opinion.Hope this helps.

Well it wasn't the early 80s but there is a movie called Small Soldiers where that takes place, with the helecopter and all. The soldiers are toys and they come to life and i believe that Tommy Lee Jones was the voice of one of the soldiers

In Army of Darkness, Ash fought tiny images of himself, but I don't remember any helicopter and it came out in 1992

i dont know about a tiny army, but i remember some movie called Batteries not Included, but i dont know if thats the one you mean
