There are TONS of things to do on campus, apart from the obvious studying.
There's usually some sort of activity going on in the dorms; there are intramural sports as well as the school teams; there's the rec classes at the gym; there are dozens of clubs and organizations for every imaginable hobby and interest.
In one term you can attend a deluxe dorm dinner, a midterm late-night cookie party, learn to play taiko drums, attend bible study or a shabbat dinner, help cleanup litter at a local river, tutor inner-city kids, get drunk at a frat party, learn aikido self-defense, climb the rock-wall, lead your ultimate frisbee intra-mural team to the finals, cheer on the school basketball team, get a job at the campus bookstore, watch second-run movies for $2, release your frustrations about finals during the midnight yell, and much much more.
There's always something going on - you just have to get off your butt and go join in.

This very much depends on where you are in school. Most students at my current school would die laughing at the idea of "the packed Friday Night Lights". They are more likely to spend free time at the gym or surfing.

well if you live in an apartment than you can do watever you want, my bro still lives with my mom because hey i can see why because cost of living is a lot now, but if you are staying home, just expect the ordinary things except now you have more freedom, to do whatever you want, well that doesn't break the law, if you can drive you can go out more and take friends with you, oh yeah my bro doesn't really hang out with his friends because everyone is so busy now. but you will meet new people

Expensive, heavy books, lots of paper-writing, lots of intellectual growth, new friends, a Greek membership (maybe), possibly meeting your wife/husband, and hopefully growth in maturity and independence.
