Thats correct! Gambling carries a lifetime ban if the commissioner chooses to enforce it. Alex Karras and Paul Hornung recieved punishment by the NFL during their playing days for gambling

That's not a plea agreement or a confession. That's the Summary of the Facts. The plea agreement contains a lot more than that. That's only between Vick and the federal DA. If the judge would have ever denied a plea agreement or Vick changed his mind, that would have been thrown out and never used as evidence. That's all public record. Everyone knows the basic facts as stated there. How would that be able to make someone decide whether or not he should be able to play again. It's each individual's moral/value judgement. Russell Simmons and Al Sharpton, especially that buffoon Al Sharpton, would have no impact on most people's decision.

To poster #3, good analogy! Since the President dropped a bomb on Japan, I think we should free Vick of the charges. Maybe we should also free drunk drivers who never hit anyone. Maybe we should also let everyone get away with speeding, or running red lights too. Only if nobody got hurt. Yeah, that makes sense...NOT! I guess you think the Tim Donaghy the bogus NBA ref should be freed of charges too since the President dropped a bomb on Japan. Haha. Funny!

To poster #4, yeah, I could just see it. The NFL was spying on Vick just hoping he would screw up so they could ban him. Yeah, the league was very jealous of him. I wonder if they are waiting for Daute Culpepper or Aarron Brooks to mess up. You had better call up Steve McNair. I'm sure the league is just waiting with cameras to catch them doing something wrong...lol!

To poster #9, nobody is saying that a dog's life is more important than human life. Looks like Vick eletrocuted dogs and made them fight until death. He should be punished if guilty. Simple as that.

He would be banned but like Pete Rose he can apply for reinstatement. Like Pete Rose I doubt that he would ever be reinstated. Gambling is the #1 sin in sports. The dog fighting will pass in time, but gambling as an athlete is a death sentence.

He will only be banned for life because of the illegal betting on the dogfights. If the NFL finds evidence of him betting he is in even bigger trouble to ever play again.

If convicted of the felony charges standing against him, he will be certainly be banned for life. Other players have been banned for less serious crimes (misdemeanors).

ofcourse. y do u need to read the news to know that. any 5 yr old kid that knows about football could tell u that. it is actually really stupid to bann some one from football and thrown him in jail, for a ling time, just cause he was involved in dog fighting and he killed animals. but when a person kills another person, first nobody even cares about him, and then most of the time these players r found not guilty. and that is wat really pisses me off! people i guess, r trying to say that a dogs life is more important then a human beings.

yea that is not a good way to end this. I hate dogfighting, i can tell you that. but i also hate, war, cutting down rainforest, pullution...etc. how is that any different to what vick did. We eat millions of cows, chicken, pork, eat eggs. and how is this different? you might say they were bred for this...so where the pitbulls...bred to fight...did the president get kicked out b/c he bombed japan in WWII?? no neither shud vick
