Those tissues and muscles have been spread out in a way they've never experienced before, so yes. It chould be because of your exam. Have a good warm bath (don't use bath oils because if you have any tiny cuts or anything it could hurt more) and relax a bit. You should feel better by morning. If you're still feeling it a bit by the time bedtime rolls around, you might want to take some tylenol or ibuprofen for the discomfort so you can sleep. If you are still feeling this much or more pain tomorrow, let your parents know so they can notify the doctor. Good luck!

It's totally normal (and really sad the doctor didn't warn you about that). Besides the pap smear (where they actually scrape cells off your cervix), if this was the first time you had a full gynecological exam with the speculum, that alone could cause some residual discomfort. I always wore a panty liner after a pap smear to make sure to catch any spotting.
If it continues to hurt for days, definitely consult your doctor, but to hurt a day or so is normal.

I think whoever did the pap smear for you has not done it right. Mine felt nothing at all when it's being done and afterwards. Try with a squirt water. Fill it with WARM salty water and squirt it down there, it'll soothe the pain. If pain continues to another day, seek medical advice.

likely the doctor had to do a little 'stretching' with the scope to be able to do your Pap... it will be uncomfortable for a day or so... a warm soak will help , as will a Tylenol and a good book .... growing up is a pain, but you're doing right by taking good care of your body!....

Check if there is any redness in the parts down there. It may be allergy to any local application. If there isn't, just take some pain killer and relax.
Good luck!
