Those dead bodies are empty. They are just rotting pieces of meat. The PERSON has left their home and the home is empty.
I was supervisor of a cemetery for quite a while...whoops..MEMORIAL GARDEN, and I loved my customers. They were no trouble, never complained, always quiet.
When I went to my dad's and mom's funerals, I knew that wasn't them. Their soul and spirt were with God. They had left their earthly home.
When I die, I'll leave behind a piece of meat that I don't need anymore.
Let my body be taken to help others live better lives. Give my sight to a man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face or love in the eyes of a woman. Give my heart to a person whose won heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain. Bive my blood to the teenager who has been pulled from the wreckage of a car so that he might live to see his grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week. Take my bones, my every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body, and find a way to make a crippled child walk. Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that someday a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain.
Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help flowers grow.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all my prejudices against my fellow man.
Give my soul to God. If by chance you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.

It's normal. The first time I saw I dead body was on the documentary called Fahrenheit 9/11, they showed a baby. I couldn't look anymore throughout the movie.

There is no "norm" reaction for this, it is just like snakes and insects, everyone deals with it differently.
*edit*
Do not let anyone force you to go up to the body, but if it is a close friend that needs support you can be there for them and do not look towards the body.

That is a tough one, I don't know what to tell you but to tell you what you feel is normal.
