YES.

They should set a time limit for campaigning... say, 3 months' worth of it before the election.

I think people will get bored long before the election, this time around.

The earlier they start campaining, the more the process costs and the more expensive it is, ensuring that no candidate who isn't backed by VERY big pockets (big oil or the lawyers lobby) can ever lead this country.
The United States - sold to the highest bidder once again no matter what party wins.

Absolutely it started too early.

I've been ignoring everything associated with candidates, platforms, parties, etc. for a couple months now.

I've never missed voting on elections since 1981.
