Come on now cut him some slack. Is he supposed to rant and rave about being a huge a flip-flopper? Giuliani has flip-flopped his views on gun control and abortion, as well as other issues that he needed to change his opinion on for the sake of political popularity.
Should he brag that (like a stereo typical politician) he says one thing and and benefits financially from opposite actions.
Despite official campaign statements that claim Giuliani “believes Hugo Chavez is not a friend of the United States,” the mayor’s law firm recently lobbied on behalf of one of Chavez’s oil companies and was paid between $100,000 and $200,000.
Maybe he should mention to the right wing religious right his 2 divorces or how he had an affair with his assistant in Gracie Mansion, while his wife was at home taking care of the kids.
I know- he needs to direct everyone he can to the website set up by New York firefighters http://www.rudy-urbanlegend.com/
so we can all find out how they feel about Rudy and his 9-11
song and dance routine.
He's playing the only card he has-after all the country fell for Bush's "tough on terrrrr" routine- how hard can it be for someone that can actually form a complete and grammatically correct sentence?

Boy you Americans are a funny lot.
Here you have a man who has the guts to take on the Mob
and clean up the towns criminal element. He has clear ideas how to deal the with your alien problems. Whom showed real humility and leadership when 9/11 occured and he actually
gives a clear answer when asked a question. This is not the usual case for a politician.

But Hey im a Brit

The Americans to my surprise voted in George Bush as your President and incredibily you wanted even more as you wanted him in for a second time. Wow

Mr Giuliani could not ever measure up to your todays President in Americans eyes

Bush for a third term :o) you Americans can sure pickum

Yours Pete :o~

What sickens me is that there is a generation of Internet geeks that likes to occupy idle time pretending that 9-11 and the terrorist threat is not much more than a bumper sticker slogan.
Why?, because you are little people with nothing to lose and have a false sense of courage because you think you are insulated from it all or it exists in some ones imagination.

You need it to happen to you.
Then the tune will change.
You will beg for rescue and call for revenge.
Giuliani hearkens back to that day because it was the most profound experience of his life as it was for 8 million others and he wants to do what needs to be done to keep it from happening again.
In this time there is nothing more important.
The biggest stumbling block to that end is people like you who just want to put it on mute and pretend it's not there.

Thank god there are not as many of you as what appears here.

Sure, we can if he wasnt mayor, but guess what? He was a shining light in a day of darkness and terror. His leadership will never be forgotten in the weeks and months after. He was a controversial mayor, but the events of 9-11 defined his life. He will forever be inextricably linked to the events of that day. What public official would risk his life to save the lives of citizens he did not even know?

I live in Texas, and I'd be damned proud if he was my leader. I would love for him to be President. Now to the issue at hand, make hay for political gain? Libs have exploited every imaginable tragedy in the past 6 years for pure political gain, and even invented new ones on the way: 9-11, Iraq war, soldiers deaths, Abu Grahb, Gitmo, Rove, Foley, Hastert-Delay-Abramoff, Katrina, Falling bridges, Global warming, Alberto Gonzalez, etc. No sorry libs are far more guilty of these offenses than the greatest mayor of any city ever was in the darkest day in American history. This political backlash is all coming now after he started running for president, prior to this NO ONE had a bad thing to say about him even his liberal detractors.

It was the worst attack on US soil & he did an outstanding job of keeping the people of NY & America calm.
Did you forget about the attacks? Its not 'poltiical hay'; we are fighting a war related to the attacks.
Where were the 2 worthless NY senators during the attacks? The ONLY 2 people holding America together were America's President & America's Mayor.
I imagine you are jealous NY didn't have a Dem mayor at the time; than the 'hay' would have been just fine.
Show our next President some respect.

People vote based on fears; the fear that someone will become unemployed, lose money in the stock market, education, war, and yes, the fear of terrorist attack. This is a staple of all politicians, not just Giuliani and the GOP are responsible for this. People always look at where they have been to try to dictate where they want to go.

He's not the guy to be president, but he accomplished a lot more in NYC than most mayors, and more than responding to 9/11. Crime went WAY down. Anyway, I haven't heard him say much about 9/11 yet, though I don't listen much at all. I'm not a Rudy fan either, but try to be objective, especially those of you who admit they don't listen to what he says. Kind of damages your credibility when you criticize....

The only reason he is doing it more than the others is because he is in a better position to do so.

Bush has been using it to his advantage since 2001. There are Dems that have done the same thing.

Its the way of the politician. Make a stand by voting for someone who isnt scum hiding behind the pretty suit and image provided by Big Business---good luck finding one.

Giuliani is a disgusting opportunist in the most vile of ways. He's proven that throughout his tenure as mayor of N.Y.C.
Ask the police and firemen how much he worked. From what I understand they wanted to ring his neck because he impeded their efforts to work.
"His administration’s failure to provide the World Trade Center’s first responders with adequate radios, a long-standing complaint from relatives of the firefighters killed when the twin towers collapsed. The September 11 commission noted the firefighters at the World Trade Center were using the same ineffective radios employed by the first responders to the 1993 terrorist attack on the trade center.
Regenhard, at a 2004 commission hearing in Manhattan, screamed at Giuliani, “My son was murdered because of your incompetence!” The hearing was a perfect example of the 9/11 duality: Commission members universally praised Giuliani at the same event.
A November 2001 decision to step up removal of the massive rubble pile at ground zero. The firefighters were angered when the then-mayor reduced their numbers among the group searching for remains of their lost “brothers,” focusing instead on what they derided as a “scoop and dump” approach. Giuliani agreed to increase the number of firefighters at ground zero just days after ordering the cutback.
More than 51/2 years later, body parts are still turning up in the trade center site.
“We want America to know what this guy meant to New York City firefighters,” said Peter Gorman, head of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association. “In our experiences with this man, he disrespected us in the most horrific way.”

Exactly....a day of personal importance. It's the only thing he has to his credit, and it will not be enough to get him anywhere near the nomination. Americans want to move on, and Giuliani wants to live in the afterglow of 9/11/01.
