Oxgall is dehydrated or reduced gall bladder, taken from bovine. You can find this out by Googling it.

In Europe, it is found combined with soap, and I found it in a drug store, much like a Walgreens or Rite-Aid. I brought a few boxes home from Holland in 2005. It was only about $1 per bar of soap and 1 box has lasted me for 2 years. It cleans oily spots out of clothing (like the grease you get splattered on your shirt when frying oily foods on the stove)100 times better than anything we have here in the USA.

There used to be a detergent called Oxydol but I don't think they make it anymore. Are you talking about the product on advertised on TV for making your clothes whiter? Oxyclean? you can get at Wal-Mart in the laundry detergent aisle.
