Sorry but it is.

However it's quite uncommon and most people don't use that. Johnny is a nice name and if people snigger it says more about them than your mom so go easy.
Peace to you. You sound like a lovely family.

Yep a (rubber) johnny is a condom in the UK, but don't worry too much, it's not used that much as slang anymore

Well your brother isn't called 'Rubber Johnny' which is the full name for what we call a condom.
When they were young, two brothers in my family were on a visit to their aunt, they where called Thomas, and John, the aunt was calling them in by shouting "John, Thomas, John Thomas,' A John Thomas is 'a mans tool' in England, but their aunt never realized.
Don't yell at your mum, people in England get called Johnny as well, it's a nice name.
The boys didn't yell at their mum for naming them John, and Thomas.

Yep, you're right. But a rubber for us is just an eraser - I spoke to an American colleague once and explained that in Australia our stationery department was so mean they gave us half a rubber at a time - you should have heard the stunned silence on the phone!

Yes unfortunately!! Here they're referred to as "Rubber Johnnys". Funny thing is that the main brand used is "Durex" which is the name of Australian sticking tape!

Yep. I once made the mistake of asking an american girl who was working with me if I could root through her drawers for a rubber. In England that means search through the drawer in your desk for an eraser.
She didn't stop laughing for a week.
Another girl whose surname was Head had a brother called Richard and couldn't understand why we thought this hilarious.(Dick Head if you dont understand)
