No. The only way a doctor would be able to tell if you were having sex would be if you had unprotected sex shortly before your appointment and there was still semen inside you or you had rough sex before your appointment and the vaginal walls were bruised.
Your mom is either trying to scare you into telling her the truth or she's old fashioned and still believes that the hymen has to be intact to be a virgin. Many things can break your hymen other than intercourse so there is no way of any doctor being able to tell whether you're still a virgin or not.
It's always wise to be honest with your doctor. Depending on your age your doctor might prefer to speak with you without your mom in the room. If he/she does, be honest with them. Doctors are only looking out for your best interest and can not tell your mom anything you don't want them to.

okay... I'm not even going to read through all the answers but the question is no. The doctors cannot tell when the last time you had sex was, and they cannot tell if you've ever had sex. That's a very common misconception. Many people believe that if you're a virgin, you still have your hyem intact, when infact, many girls break theirs doing things such as riding a bike, while other's are very stretchy and can actually have sex without it breaking. The only way a doctor could tell that you had some sexual activity is if you had an std down there, but even then, that doesn't mean intercourse.

Not generally. Pelvic examination doesn't reveal if you've had vaginal intercourse or if you masturbate, unless there are specific signs:
symptoms of a sexually transmitted infection such as herpes or genital warts
the presence in the vagina of semen from a recent act of intercourse
torn tissue from violent or rough sex
If hymeneal tissue that a clinician has previously observed appears changed, she may think that sexual intercourse has occurred, but she cannot be sure unless she is told.

Usually, the only way the clinician will know if a woman's had sex is if the woman tells her. That's why it's important to tell your clinician if you are having sex. Don't let embarrassment become a health risk. Let your clinician know what is going on with your sex life so that she can make a more informed evaluation of your health status.

No. A doctor can't tell from loking at your vagina whether you have had sex or not. She can only see the condition of your hymen and that can be torn or worn w/o ever having sex and some girls never even had a hymen.

And a doctor would not say anything about your sexuality to your mom because of dr-patient confidentiality ethics.

First, no, the doctor can't tell from an exam if you've had sex in the past (unless you've been pregnant). BUT, you really should tell the doctor you have so they can do the right sort of testing and get you the information you need.

Your doctor shouldn't tell your mother anything about the exam if you request it, but s/he really should know to give you the proper care.

Your doctor should not tell your mom one way or the other, besides he/she would have no way of knowing for certain that you are or have had sex, any evidence that could be found could be attributed to masturbation or even riding a bike! besides, doctors are not really in the business of busting people, they just wanna make sure your healthy. i think your ma may have been trying to scare you into revealing information, information you clearly don't have.

No, they can't. What goes on between your doctor and you is strictly confidential, doesn't matter your age. If you ask your doctor not to say anything, they won't... you can even have your appointment alone if you wish. Just be careful when it comes to sex... don't know how old you are, but it never hurts to wait.

there is no way that I can tell when you last had sex-unless there was bruising if things were a bit "eager"

If I took vaginal swabs then I may find some active sperm if condom was not used

You do not say how old you are --so even if you did tell me that you were active your confidence is respected.
I would not even discuss it with her without your expressed permission

Unless you have sex within the previous 48 hours they will not really be able to tell if you've had sex or not.
