've been looking at how large corn snakes terrariums should be and I've gotten everything from 5.5 to 20 gallons so, HOW LARGE SHOULD IT BE!

I talked to a vet as well as several breeders about how big of tanks my different snakes should have. Here's what they said:

The tank should be long enought that the snake can stretch out its full length without touching either of the sides. This give them enough room to wander around. Also, if a snake can't straighten out, it can lead to to respiratory complications. So really, it depends on how large your corn snake gets. Most do fine in a twenty or thirty gal.

5.5 gallons is way too small. Most snakes require at least a 20 gallon tank, especially corn snakes since the grow to be anywhere between 3-4 feet in length.

Baby snakes will be fine in a 5.5 gallon for a while. An adult should be in at least a 20 gallon long.
