At 16 wks or 20 wks would not make any diffrerent, It is all depend on the possition of the fetus. Sometimes the baby lies at an angle that you can not tell during the ultrasound. Also, ultrasound is not 100% to predict the gender, only Ammiocentesis or CVS test can tell the gender 100% accurate.
Best wishes.

They usually do ultrasounds between 16-20 weeks sometimes later. I got both mine at 18 weeks and found out the sex. They say the closer you wait to 20 weeks the better to see the genitals. Some babies can grow bigger than others and waiting past 20 weeks you may not be able to see them at all. Sometimes it doesn't matter how far you are the baby can be shy. I would wait to atleast around 18 weeks.

they should be able to right at sixteen weeks. I wanted to know as soon as I could so I went to an ultrasound place, which wasn't my doctor. Anyway I think it was about $100 for a video and about 15 minute ultrasound. The technician I had said there was no doubt at all that I was having a girl and showed my hubby and I what we were looking at. She said I can guarantee that your baby has girl parts and then showed us what the different "parts" looked like at that stage. Needless to say we had a girl. There was really no guesswork where we went. If you're in Ca we went to the place in Redlands. I would highly recommend it, it was awesome!

I found out I was having a baby boy at 19 weeks. I know I've heard that at 16 weeks that can tell the gender, but to be safe, I would wait a little longer. Just because if you REALLY want to know, you don't want to waste that ultrasound. (I mean of course it wouldn't be a waste, but you know what I mean)

immediately, it incredibly is obtainable to inform the intercourse of the newborn, till the newborn hides it, or is laying in a position impossible to make certain for the tech. do no longer subject, i think of you will possibly have yet another oppourtunity to verify it later, earlier your due date. i'm 22 wks pregnant, and that they found i became having a boy. It does help in case you had some thing candy earlier the ultrasounds. it will make the newborn lively, and little you would be able to alter positions. giving you larger threat to make certain it. solid success !

If the baby is in the right "position" then they should be able to tell... waiting any longer won't make it any different! I found out at 19 weeks, but that is just when my doctor scheduled our ultrasound!
GOOD LUCK!

i had an ultrasound at 17 weeks and the doctor said he wasn't sure but he thought it was a boy.
but at my next ultrasound like 4 or 5 weeks later we found out it was a girl.
so don't get your hopes up if you go earlier.
