'Society,' is no longer defined by a single, majority race as it had been in the past - here in CA, for instance, there isn't even a majority race. White kids in the suburbs who idolize rap stars may have to try extra hard to be accepted into that subculture, and an a black couple moving into an historic China town is probably not going to have an easy time winning acceptance, but, outside of what amount to racial enclaves (physical or cultural), I think the broader society no longer requires that members of a given race 'prove' themselves to a much greater degree than others.

Asside, perhaps, for having to overcome the impression that you /didn't/ have try as hard to get to where you are, due to Affirmative Action or something like that.

And, of course, individuals may still harbor predjudices and be in positions to make the lives of others a bit more difficult.

No I don't. At least I try not to let society put me into any kind of box. I think the problems I have now are a reflection of our values as a whole. Not because I am a minority.

Being a minority is really difficult. Our society has stereotyped the different races and it will never be easy to be accepted. We just have to hold up our end and not be a disgrace to out particular race. White people have a lot of flaws as well, but they are easily overlooked.
