I've had the best experiences in New York - they're not mean, just efficient, no chit-chat - but people are always willing to help out if you ask quickly, to-the-point questions.
The worst was either Salt Lake or LA. LA is just weird. The fake-nice is not pleasant at all.

The people in the south are very laid back and friendly. The friendliest country I have ever been to is the Pilippines. The people there are very poor but they are so happy and friendly. The most unfriendly was France, at least in Paris where everyone was unfriendly and rude. In the countryside the french people were a lot friendlier though.

Take a bow people from Chicago. Your city is my favourite place in all my travels.
Hang your heads in shame Vancouver. Rude, snobby and very unfriendly. I recommend to all my freinds to not go there.

I'd say the people in Australia are the friendliest, and I haven't really come across a place where people have been unfriendly.
