owch poor man! because there are lots of muscles in your lower abdomen it might be either a hernia caused by trauma to the muscle especially if he was lifting at the time. the other thing that it might be is damage to the muscles itself. deep trauma to muscle can cause bleeding in the muscle tissue which can feel hard as it heals - like a little lump. He really does need to see a doctor though as there are alsorts of important bits in that area - if you get my drift! Do your best to persuade him to see someone.

Yup. Anytime you get an injury and it doesn't heal up quickly, you need to assume some damage has been done and see the dr. Does it hurt? He needs to swallow his pride. Dr.s have seen pretty much everything. You know the saying about hospitals...Leave your dignity at the door.

It is probably a hemangioma, or dried blood that has hardened and will eventually be absorbed by the body.....There is nothing to be embarrassed about, we deal with things like this a hundred times a day...tell his doctor and let him check it out.....

Probably not, but he should have it checked out anyway. There are a few bad things that can happen down there so that he should be willing to get examined..

embarrassed? why it was a work related injury. Could be a mass of tissue or a hernia.
