Often times, choosing instead to just berate the questioner, or go off on some rant about how bad conservatives are... or some other trivial thing that has nothing to do with the question.

I have noticed that and they often make assumptions about the questioner.

Yes I have noticed that some stray away from answering the question .

I often find that in reading some answers though that questioners lack the ability to accept or understand some of the answers .

Take conservatives for instance .
They claim to be conservative and yet are truly as liberal as anyone could be .
They want to interfere in every aspect of your life from cradle to grave .
Added to the cost of everything I purchase are their hidden taxes and services they protect .
In order for anyone to do anything you first need a permit and then you need a bond ,surety or insurance , these are purchased not from the government but private industry .

So to get my government permit or license I must also pay private industry for the right to compete in a so called free market which makes starting a company a major investment .

So much for people being allowed to sell their products as they wish .

The minimum one must have is a vendors license and along with that you must declare all the income from such sales and then provide the taxes to the government you are required to collect .

Conservatives felt it was in the best interests of everyone concerned that they take over running and licensing everything for our own good .

On top of that they insist that we conduct our lives according to a moral code which they adopt directly from a religious philosophy practiced by many but which is suppose to be separate from the government .

I find it most alarming that I should be subjected to the rules of someone else's God and forced to live under laws derived from that God in a free nation .

Conservatives are the same today as they where 300 years ago . Nothing has changed and controlling the ability of others to operate freely is what they do best .

If I believed in a God I would ask him to have mercy upon the souls of those who have made it their business to tell others how to live and worse then that ,fixed the game so that ordinary people must struggle day in and day out not to be paid the proper wage for their work but rather a wage determined to meet the basic survival needs of millions of people .

Being forced to hand over a large percentage of your earnings first to the government and then to meet the laws conservatives love to pass which take your money it is no wonder that we have a large number of people dissatisfied with how conservatives have manipulated and controlled this nation .

I hate what conservative has come to mean because in my book I am a true conservative .
One who would not waste his time or energy passing laws and paying for there enforcement in the community but would allow people the freedom to do as they wish .
This is conservativeness at its best and what its become in the hands of christians is just abhorrent in my view .

Have you tried asking actual questions, or do you just go around asking questions like this and trying to bait people into fights?

Why not read some answers by Coragryph? He is very good about answering. Read mine-I tend to give answers, though Im not always fond of the liberal label. There are many others.

Youre encouraging the polarization of the country which makes it harder for anything to be accomplished and makes it harder for the people to have a voice. Stop it. I have the urge to grab a news paper and smack you on the nose with it for being so shortsighted.

Oh, we do. We answer VALID questions!

The typical neocon rant seems to be to ask a slanted question with based on a ridiculous opinion that you try to pass off as fact without offering a shred of evidence to support it...then when you are called out for not your false question, you while "Has anyone else ever noticed that liberals never actually answer a question?"

So your neocon slanted question like "why are liberals so anti-Semitic?" and then give no basis to the claim is just cowardly. Then you add, "well Michael Moore is blatantly anti-Semitic" and again give no examples of that. I'm sorry if we don't just blindly accept your slanted opinion as fact, be as you said, we are liberals. We don't just believe foolish rhetoric like neocons do, we want evidence.

Did you not get enough attention as a child...or not enough education?

Well, AJ, allow me to enlighten you a little bit. When my three sons were teenagers, they would often ask me a "question." It would be along the lines of "But WHY don't you want me to go to Ronnie's party?" I often didn't answer these questions, because (a) they were not real questions, (b) they already knew my answer, (c) they had their minds made up and (d) they just wanted to argue with me.

I think this is an apt analogy for how I often feel about the "questions" asked on Yahoo. For instance, "Why are liberals idiots and hate their country?" Now, perhaps you feel that liberals should rush to answer that in a serious fashion. I don't.

[I would say the honest answer to your question is that often people are so tired of reading the same old slanted and unsupported questions that they attempt to point out to the questioner that they could frame their questions better and/or they attempt to show the questioner their own hypocrisy. For instance, if you asked "Isn't Bill Clinton an idiot?" and a liberal answered that with "Isn't George Bush an idiot?" they are probably hoping the questioner will realize that all these things cut both ways, the world is not black and white or right and wrong, and that the very things they are accusing the other side of are equally true of their own side.]

Remove head from dark region between legs, I and many other "liberals" answer questions on a regular basis, however for you to have noticed you would have had to read the responses, so I must assume you can't or won't read for fear of enlightenment. You and your brethren drive many moderate, centrist people to the left with your babble and uninformed rants, thanks for swelling the ranks !!!

Sounds like O'reilly, and Hannidy, Rush to me. No one ever speaks only them. Loud to the 100 degree. Guess they must be liberals also. They also always berate their guest.

I've noticed that phenomenon on ALL sides. I've also noticed that some from ALL sides do answer questions, even if their answers are ridiculed. So, I guess the choice is whether to give into it or rise above it, huh?

You mean like justifying bad behaviour by pointing out some other bad behavior?

I don't think that sort of thing is confined to liberals. Seems to be an internet thing.

Yeah, that about sums it up.

I am not a liberal, but I disagree. Sometimes they do give intelligent answers to questions. You should never say never! Wait a minute; I just said never. Sorry.
