That was the stupidest move on Gore's part. Clinton was extremely popular even when leaving office. Gore made many many mistakes in that campaign. Number one was not letting Clinton campaign for him. The second was having Lieberman as his V.P, and the third was trying to take on GOP talking points of 'family values'. And, this is just 3. But it was a pathetic campaign. He would have made a much better president than Bush, but geesuz his campaign sucked.

The republicans had spent so much time smearing Clinton that Gore felt it would be better to not campaign with him. In retrospect, it seems Gore overrated the effects of the republican campaign, as Clinton is still well-respected and liked. Had he done more to associate himself with the successful Clinton administration, odds are that Florida wouldn't have mattered in the end.

That something bad rubbed off on Gore long before he started campaigning for himself.
Explain how a man who preaches global warming can fly around the country and world in a jet fueled plane and call himself environmentally friendly? HA.

Joe, I'm sorry to tell you that I've diagnosed you over the internet with OCD--Obsessive Clinton Disorder. This syndrome is characterized by people who keep dwelling on a guy six or seven long years after he's left office and who tend to blame everything that's happening in 2007 on a guy who hasn't been in charge of anything since 2000.
Usually people who have this disorder were left out in the cold as children while Democrats nibbled their ears.
I suggest that you rush right out for some counseling and perhaps psychotropic drugs. Now, get going!

He wanted to disassociate himself from Bill Clinton, and was embarrassed that Clinton was foolish enough to have an affair while Starr was investigating him.
