Finally an educated person asked a question. Without a working Crystal Ball this would be impossible to answer but I can imagine the aswer would not be good. President Bush was the right man at the right time, Thank God.

I agree there is far too much bush bashing. People over estimate the power of the president and underestimate the power of the house and congress. It's debateable whether the terrorists would have attacked if Gore took his rightful place as the people's elected president. However, all other things being equal, the effect he would have had is working better with Pelosi. The war would have ended sooner had it begun in the first place. Far less would have been spent on the war. We might be closer to gun control and have more access to health care. But it's hard to say. Would a democratic congress have seeded the hurricane and moved it to Mexico or California? No. Of course not. I don't think anyone could have done better with Katrina at the federal level. I think the problem was the mayor and the local politics of race that reelected him. So yes, there would have been less spending on war and more on America. Besides that most people's lives would be uneffected.

In any democratic country, you have the right to criticize your leaders. Had Bush not been elected, it's fairly certain that the U.S. would not be in Iraq. The Middle East would still be a troubled region, but it would probably be less troubled than it is today, as ham-handed American interventions such as the war in Iraq would not have happened. It's unlikely that the transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich that Bush initiated would have happened. The U.S. would still have had a balanced budget or a surplus. Katrina would still have happened, but it's possible that someone more competent than Michael Brown would have been the head of FEMA. The United States would not have become known as a country that commits torture, and its citizens would be free of the fear of arrest and imprisonment without any civil liberties. As for the price of gas, I have news for you--there isn't any more oil being made, way down underground, so we've got limited supplies and increasing demand. It would still be what it is today.

Bush is the author of his own misfortune and the American people are slowly waking up to realize what an incompetent, evil government they've had.

9/11 could have been prevented, as intelligence info had been previously been given (Bushie had ignored it)

Katrina would have happened- no person can save the world from natural disasters which are afoot- but New Orleans would be back in the state it was in a lot sooner. It's still nowhere near the city it was. Our president, if it had not been Bush, may have even given the go-ahead to reinforce the levees before Katrina happened.

Gas prices would probably be a lot closer to the $1.00-1.50 range than the $2.50-3.00 range if we had a different President.

We would not have gone to Iraq. Though if 9/11 did happen in the end, we may have still gone to Afghanistan.

And the war in Iraq has given us MORE fear and MORE terrorists thanks to us sending our troops there.

All the natural disasters would still have happened but the responses to them may have been much better.

As for 9/11 and the current wars:

9/11 may have been averted since there WAS intelligence that indicated these attacks were in the final stages of planning and implementation.

If 9/11 had not been averted, we would have still gone into Afghanistan to get to the responsible parties. Pure retribution that our public would have demanded.

As for Iraq and Saddam, we most likely would not have invaded since there were so many conflicting reports of WMD's and NO EVIDENCE at all of Iraq supporting Bin Laden.

The USA PATRIOT act would have fallen flat as well without the fanatical promotional methods and fear mongering of the current administration.

(the sound of birds chirping and bees buzzing and all of nature is as one in our ears) The inventor of this blessed domain (internet) Al Gore would be Prez . 9/11 would never have happened because nothing bad ever happens when the Dems are at the helm. Gas would still be a buck because Brother Al the Prez would pull out carbon dioxide credits in his back pocket and pass them out like candy. Of course he'd tax the sh_t outta that dollar a gallon gas.(Dems cant resist reaching into YOUR pockets) Enron would still be doing business as usual. As for disasters, Al would be riding High on the fact that he shook his finger at Global warming and made a movie about it."See... I told you so !"
AAAHHHHHH.......Life would have been Soooo much better if.................(birds and bees hush)

I love you lavadog. i think we'd all be dead, like we're going to be when they pull my husband and all the other troops out of Iraq abruptly. Nice dream world all these protesters live in... Regardless, you are right... I didn't like Bush much for other reasons until now, so many people think pulling everyone out is the answer...so many people think Bush is killing the troops. Now he's the only one with the common sense to take charge of his actions and stick by them. Screw these kids.

The US would not be in Iraq, it was a war of choice. Don't under estimate or minimize the power of the president to lead the country into prosperity or a disaster. We have an extremely strong executive and Bush has grabbed and holds even more power than any president before him.

Let's see - not in a war
gas would be a lot cheaper
no patirot act (eye in the sky)
Oil would not be first priority
thousands of lives would have been saved (war)
Katrinia would have happened, but the people would have some warning of it coming.
Help all of his gray haired buddies make millions off of the factories that are supplying things for the war.

It's nice that you feel for that man, but Lady - he is just plain stupid.

Your question makes little sense.

The world would have been very different, as in much better.

Bush ran for President, if he's part of some bigger cosmic destiny for our nation, then I suspect some sort of great evil would be behind it.

I wish you were joking.
I don't know what would have happen if Bush wasn't elected. Well, he wasn't elected really.

9-11 might not have happened. Iraq War probably would not have happened.

The U.S. probably would have more respect and allies around the world.
