Keep in mind that Hillary and Reid voted to renew it --- the 2 most powerful Dems in the Senate. I guess they agree with Bush that it's important.

And it also makes it illegal to communicate with terrorists, which is a big blow to terrorist-appeasing libs.

Don't you know, "terrorism" is just a term coined up by Bush and the other evil neocons to divide this world so they could steal all the oil and give out contracts to Haliburton. These so called "terrorists" are just as much victims as everyone in this country who didn't vote for Bush. The real terrorist is Bush because he's Hitler, a war criminal, a mass murderer, the destroyer of worlds. Hell he'd be the anti-Christ if Christianity wasn't such a bigoted, hate filled bunch of hicks and Democrats could actually use Christian terms.

The issue isn't the Patriot Act oh smart one! The issue is, after Bush agreed to the compromise, that it is a law that Bush gave a signing slip to saying he didn't have to go by it, and summarily went out and violated our rights with no authority.

What is worse is the Military Commissions Act of 2006 which eliminates 4 Amendments by law, and declares that habeas corpus does not exist.

YOU CANT CHANGE THE CONSTITUTION BY LAW!! There is a process and it is called an amendment! By the way it is unconstitutional, so saith the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals

It doesn't, and they aren't. The Patriot Act makes it legal to forget about the Constitution (The heart of what makes America Great), as long as you say you're looking for a terrorist. It's like throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

And that's precisely why I won't be voting for Hillary, or any of the other Republicans, in the upcoming election.

why would the dems or anyone else be mad about that? The Patriot Act was passed for our safety, but don't get me wrong I'm all for what's right... but what other people are trying to make sure it doesn't happen is that the govt doesn't abuse this law to use it on just anybody or whom they want... we all love our privacy.... we don't want the govt to be snooping thru the phones, computer or our bank records whenever they feel like it without any warrants or whatever... that's what other dems were trying to enforce..... it's ok for terrorism but not for any other personal reasons.....

put yourself in their shoes and you're a law abiding muslim American that pays your taxes and do everything else and you were under surveillance just because they want to... how would you feel then?...

Beardog,

Why did every Dem in the Senate vote to "ignore" the Constitution as you say? They voted to renew the Pat Act which you berate.

(Actually, all but 4 --- but that's about 90% of Dems)

Hillary, despite how fresh she is to the Senate... Kinda has a bull-type power built within her solid hips doesn't she?

At least that's where all football players say they get all their power from... ya know?

Are you saying that before the PATRIOT Act, it was legal to be a terrorist? Or are you just letting everyone know that you have no command of facts?

I'm not a democrat or Republican, they both vote for the fascist military police state and the new world order agenda of a border-less, sovereignty-less world for the benefit of elitist families and world banks wanting a slave population and total control.

Again, the ones who are so vehemently against Communism are for Communist like polices. The thinking is - you can call me a terrorist, tap my phone, and search my home anytime you want but just don't tax me ? That's really something.

I'm more upset that you YA cons think it is OK to disregard the Constitution as much as you do.
