I would say that the most extreme I've gone to in proving a point was to hire an attorney after I quit a job. I was the manager of a large research facility, and I had been sick for two days with the flu. It was summer and temperatures were about 105 degrees Fahrenheit with no wind and high humidity. My boss, one of the owners, was fuming because I was sick and threatening to fire me if I didn't get my butt into work soon. He didn't like that he was having to do my job. The third day of my illness, I came back to work still feeling unwell, but my doctor said I was no longer a health threat to others. When I got there, the boss/owner told me to go run ten laps around the building if I wanted to keep my job. We went round and round in verbal argument for about five minutes, and he said either run the laps or turn in my keys. I turned in my keys and went straight to an attorney's office. It was the best decision I could have ever made.

Sometimes in an attempt to prove a serious point I have often gone overboard until I finally realize instead of making a point I am make a fool out of myself. One needs to know when to quit.

I used to work for a company that had a cowardly boss. No matter what you did, he'd never say anything to you. To prove that it was impossible to get fired, I started a fire in the kitchen.

I was right, nothing happened except a memo stating the importance of fire safety.

I eventually left as after that, things were getting out of hand in the prank department and it was getting a little dangerous.

When asked, I state my opinion. If someone does not believe me then I guess! Oh who am I kidding? I'll go around the earth to prove myself.

My husband told me I don't really 'clean' the house and it wouldn't make a difference if I never did any house work at all. Yeah, he got sick of wearing dirty underwear and having to eat off of paper towels after about a week.
