the one band i like a lot right now and isnt signed to any record label... well i think they might be now but its a small independent label is fact not fiction. they got a lot of inspiration from death cab for cutie so if you like them then you'll probably like this band. i'd recommend stars and ufo's. thats the first song i fell in love with. two other ones i like a lot are in your car and girls that say like.

here is there official site: http://www.factnotfictiononline.com/

and here's there myspace (i'm in their top friends, lol): http://www.myspace.com/factnotfiction2

the lead singer, zeke sayer, is really nice and i talk to him once in awhile.

cobra starship is like a 80's type hiphop music. i really like them but i didnt think i would because my friend said they were hiphop. so glad i finally listened to them. they're definately worth it. they arent undiscovered but they're starting to gain popularity. they're signed to the fueled by ramen label. i just really like them and thought you might. :D

mates of state belongs to an indie label in seattle called bursuk i think. they're really good. i love the song haha and goods. their kinda techno. they're a really nice married couple. i meet them in berkeley after a death cab for cutie concert and they were really sweet.

i'd recommend rilo kiley and jonathan rice but i think they just signed to a major label...

the shins are indie i guess. they belong to the record label sub pop. its another indie record label. i'd recommend taking a look at subpop's site for some bands. they have some really good ones like the postal service and they had some other bands but they left them for major labels. :(

hope you like my suggestions!
