Berkeley's Fall 2007 admission rate for community college applicants was 32% and just over 13% for applicants from four-year colleges and other institutions (including international transfer). Depending on whether you are attending community college or other colleges, your chances will vary.

It's really easy to transfer to Berkeley if you're coming from a California Community College. That's how the CA Community College System works. When you enter you meet with a counselor and they go over a transfer admission with you. Basically it says that you are guaranteed admission to specified UC schools if you maintain a certain GPA and fulfill other requirements at the Community College.

I know a number of people who did this because they did not get into Cal out of high school.

UC-Berkeley is almost inarguably THE best public university in the country. Transfer or not, you need to have really good grades and a variety of other experiences that help you stand way out from your peers.

Volunteering, work, research, publications, grades, test scores... I'd have to see your CV to even be able to guess whether you stand a chance.

Don't mean to be harsh of course. It's just really tough. Berkeley is an amazingly good school.

as quickly as I went to Berkeley, there have been many pupils who trasferred in from extremely some community faculties so i might say you have a good shot. even nevertheless, be forewarned: it is going to likely be very complicated to maintain that time of GPA in case you pass to UCB till you're taking all humanities. classes there, quite premed are quite aggressive. i understand this because of fact I graduated from there. Why do you decide directly to pass to Berkeley? no count if it incredibly is for the adventure of the college and environs and all it has to grant, then pass. Berkeley has an infinite volume of thrilling issues to adventure and regrettably they function academic distractions too. in case you're attempting to maintain a extreme GPA and pass to grad or scientific college, push the extra mile and pass to Stanford or an Ivy League college. it is going to likely be much less stressful so which you will maintain an more desirable GPA there and the status is only as solid as Berkeley.

The only thing that i know is that their transfer admission is half of what there traditional admission is, meaning that if they normally take 20% of their applicants, they will only take 10% of their transfer apllicants. Being a top ten school in the country it is NOT easy at all to transfer in , especially if you are from out of state.
