I have specific criteria.

1) cant look cheap. (I have a ford focus right now and it looks cheap and sounds cheap when i drive it)
2) cant look too nice like with the wood on the inside etc
3) under 12,000 (try to go under 8,000 if you can)
4) cant be flashy like a red convertable.
5) In the Los Angeles Area.
6) Has good air conditioning.

I really like the 2005 nissan altima but its too expensive for me. HELP!!! and the reason i need it under that price is cuz my husband is kinda stingy.

Stay Away from FORDS!!!! they suck!!!
check out these i found on craigslist for you...the Hyundai's are pretty great cars...they have pretty goo pick up and are decent looking(not to crappy and not too flashy).
my aunt has a dodge intrepid and her husband has a dodge sumthin (can't remember but i know its a classic) so i know that these cars are good.
this sentra doesn't look bad at all either.

How about a Hyundai Sonata with low miles. This may be the upgrade you are looking for, with a long warranty and pretty decent quality, but more in your price range than most Japanese competitors. Martin btw, my Accord is built in the U.S. by Americans with a majority U.S. parts content unlike many Fords which are mostly made in Mexico and some in Canada. That "where the profits go" arguement doesn't fly either when Americans are employed by a manufacturer who actually builds more cars here than it used to - not less!

You could also try the Chevy Impala, they are nice cars and not to expensive as long as you dont get a bubble (1994-1996)

I can't help you but to tell you that sometimes you need to make due with what you can get. What's wrong with your car that you have to have a new one? A car just needs to get you from point A to point B safely.

If your husband is so stingy, then perhaps he ought to pick out your car. Or you can get a job/2nd job/work overtime and buy your own car with your own money.

you don't think gas prices are going lower do you ?
trade your focus in for a good newer one or an escort.
stingy is when you support foreign dealerships.
