Before you read below, what did you know about canada? Other than we say eh...
actually, canadians dont live in igloos up north, rarely have syrup for lunch all the time (rarely have syrup except on pan cakes), have same taste as americans in music movies and clothes, i personaly hate those muck luck things, we dont wear parkas, it doesnt snow all the time... I dont own a dog sled.
we invented the telephone, basketball, ear piercer, bowling, gingerale , electric wheelchair, paint roller, rollerskate, washing machine
We have the same crime rate as americans just less security, saskatchewan is spelled that way.
Our singers and actors include, celine Dion, avril Lavine, ryan gosling (the notebook), RACHEL Mc ADAMS (mean girls, notebook, wedding crashers), NELLY FORTADO, Fefe dobson, shania twain
we DONT say aboot, we say ABOUT
IT IS NOT ALWAYS COLD IN CANADA some temperatures reach up to 40 degrees celcius not 40 f.
we are nice and your friends.

Don't forget that lacrosse is the national sport... Not hockey. We invented hockey too.
We also have Michael J Fox and Pamela Anderson as actors from Canada. The lead singer of the White Stripes is related to Ashlee McKisac and Natalie McMaster (east coast fiddle players).
We have a Priminister, not a President.
It's provinces not states.
We beat the Americans in the one and only war we had in 1812.
Canada is a Native American word meaning village (perhaps not a good thing but an interesting fact).
*ponders more* I swear, I should know more, but I've been away from Canada for a while.
One that gets me is when I tell people I'm originally from Nova Scotia. They as where that is, I say it's on the East Coast. The response ends up being "OH! Near Toronto?!".

I went to Quebec when I was a kid and it was a beautiful place. I liked the bacon lol. I hate that song Canadian Idiot. That sounds nothing like Billie and that is really stereotyping Canadians!! I like ginger ale. Yes, but do you have the same taste as NEW YORKERS? Jeez... for living in the garment district, people wear the TACKIEST things!! I'd say, except the people and culture, Canada is a lot like the USA. Only the people aren't as nasty. Yes, I am a friend of the Canadians!!!

I hear "eh" all the time in the U.S., and don't understand why Canadians insist on claiming it. Your crime rate is certainly not equal to ours, and with less crime, you have more security. Your actors are Lorne Greene, Michael J. Fox, Evonne DeCarlo, Ann Murray, Mort Saul, Art Linkletter and a host of others. You did have igloos in the Yukon, but we never used igloos in Alaska.
You have a few Scotsmen that have never lost their accent and still say aboot, but we have those too. Your blacks sound just like other Canadians, except for the ones recently arrived from the West Indies.
You do not have all the religious crazies that we have, although you have a few. Lucky you. And you don't have all the gun crazies. Lucky you again.

You might be talking about way up north in Canada or to people nowhere near Canada?
I know there's a few funny stereotypes, but I think those are a bit extreme. Then again, I live in Seattle, only a couple hours south of Vancouver BC and I love Vancouver! My opinion of Canada is based on Vancouver and based on that, Sears in Canada is way better than in the states. Sears is like Nordstrom or Macy's here... Also, best Chinatown around in Vancouver!

Well thats a great analogy of Canada. Actually, I never heard that Canadians lived in igloos or drove dog sleds. I thought that was further north, as in the Eskimos. Yes, you have great singers, inventors and industrialists. Yes you have great citizens and live in a beautiful country. That much I know. Take pride in your country. You have every reason to.

I know Canada is beautiful. I know the leaves start turning in August and there is a lot of history and tradition. My aunt used to take me to Canada every summer until I got married. I always enjoyed the trips. A lot of the staff at our hospital are from Canada, ergo, they are some of my best friends. Just like we shouldnt beleive all of the in accuracies about Canada, dont believe everything you hear about us.

What I know about Canada is that it's a LOT cleaner than America. The people are a lot nicer (even nicer than Chicagoans!), and the weather is about the same as ours, just sometimes colder, especially way up north.
I always loved fishing up there with my Dad. Now that Daddy has passed away, I need to find some body to go fishing with.

I was going to make a joke about you saying "eh...", but you have that covered. lol.
Americans know that you don't live in igloos or have syrup on all your foods. (With the exception of a few dummies, but all countries have their share of dummies.) We're aware that you're pretty much the same as we are. In fact, a lot of Americans pretty much think of you as an extension of us.
