We have, Earth-like planet discovered 15 light-years away. Planet is smallest known outside our solar system. its called Gliese 581 c.
but it will take us about 40,000 years to reach it.

We're getting really good at locating exo-planets; I've read about possible techniques for finding true Earth-type planets as well... my guess is, yes, we will eventually find a planet (and probably more than one) that is similar to Earth - and, I'd guess that it would happen in about 10 to 20 years.

Instead of constatly looking for planets that are suitable for life, why not make one. We can already make life and the sun, the last step is making a planet, the only problem would be trying to play God.

considering theres between 100-400 billion stars in our galaxy(milky way) alone, and theres over 140 billion galaxies..id say theres a good chance, wouldnt you?
