Mine would be 9-11-2001. Normally I would listen to Howard Stern every morning on my way to school, but for some reason that day I didn't. Otherwise, I would have known before I walked into the college book store and looked up at a TV to see a live feed of the second plane hitting the tower. Really bad timing on my part. I didn't really understand what was going on so I shuffled off to class like usual. But by mid day all classes were cancelled and I wasn't allowed off campus in fear that the nearby bridges were a target.

9/11/01. I was in my apartment in downtown New York City. I was at my desk editing a video on Guatemala's day of the dead when the phone rang. A few minutes earlier, I had felt like a big explosion that caused my building to shake and firetrucks going by (which had made me check outside my door to confirm that it was not my building burning down...). Still oblivious of what had just happened, I picked up the phone. It was my friend Simone who knew I was involved in my editing and probably not aware of what was going on...

September 11th, I was at school, the teacher was about to give notes when he was told to turn on the t.v. Then we saw the towers collapsing it still has to be one of the saddest things I've ever seen, along with Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Thailand, and the murder of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

both Kennedy assasination's

John - was in first grade when the principal announced it on the loud speaker and they send us all home. My mother was crying watching the TV news coverage.

Bobby - was in the car with my mom and dad when they announced it on the radio. We were going to see a taping of the TV show "Kraft Music Hall"....it was very subdued...I remember Richard Prior was one of the guests.
