The crocuses coming up.
My mother commented about them as we got into the car on what turned out to be her last day of life.
Whenever I see them I am happy because they are harangues of spring, and ad because they remind me of my mothers death.

Watching my first grandchild being born was a happy memory for me, while she was being born my other daughter was being wheeled in to the emergency room in the same hospital for seizures. That was both a happy and sad time for me, as well as scary. My daughter is fine now, it's been 9 years and she hasn't had another seizure since.
