When you see ^ on a number it means raise to the power of
3x^2 is the same as 3x²
The 3 is the coefficient the x is the variable the x²
the exponent with the variable is the power the variable will be raised. x² means x squared.

Because this program does not allow the easy use of 'superscripts' the ^ is used along with number to indicate "raised to the power of..."
If you use a word document and 'Copy & Paste' you can create a page of figures such as : -
A = Ïr²
V = 4Ïr³/ 3
etc etc
Hope this helps :-)
