Would you put that you are Pagan or Wiccan on a college application, when it asks for your religious affiliation?
(I wouldn't want to be subject to discrimination based on that, but I wouldn't want to lie.)

Do you know any colleges that have a Pagan or Wiccan club?

I am starting to recieve college applications in the mail. I haven't looked at all of them, but one nondenominational college asked that question. They ask for race and religion.

I wouldn't do it. Federal law prohibits discrimination based on religion, but in the real world, people discriminate all the time. I never put my religious preference or ethnicity on anything where it is not required.

One thing you have to watch for. Many schools attempt to pair roommates with people that are compatible. If you get housed with somebody that is hostile to your beliefs, the semester will be no fun.

I would put it on, despite discrimination. I say, be proud of what you are and what you believe. If they don't let you in because of that, it's not the kind of place you want to go to anyway. No, I don't know if there are any with a Pagan or Wiccan club. Sorry.

That's kinda a tough question, but I probably would list my beliefs on my application. I became a Wicca after I started college, so it didn't really matter, but you might want to be careful depending on where you go. I went to a private Catholic college (long story) and would probably not list it there, but if it was a public school, I absolutely would.

As to your other question, there is a college near where I live, Northern Kentucky University, that has a Pagan Student Association, that meets every week.

Hope that helps!

Blessed Be!

I wouldn't answer it. No matter my religion. Being Pagan or Wiccan has some people thinking some very untrue things. You could be headed for trouble. While we see our religion as a peaceful one, it is not viewed as such. Just knowing what you are, and what you believe in, is enough. There are allot of ways to find similar interests by just listening, or letting it be known to friends what type of religion you study. Be careful, while they don't burn witches anymore, they still can get burnt.

You should never hide who you are and schools and colleges are not allowed to discriminate against race religion or colour, otherwise there would be many law suits if they did. For example if you were indian and hindu they could not say that you were not accepted the only way they can not accept you is if your marks do not meet the criteria or on where you live somtimes, you may find other like minded people once there.Goodluck blessed be.

I would put i'm a wiccan because if they discrimate against you like not letting you attend there school, or classes you can take it to the police, or court. Beacuse they are denning your first admendment rights.

I do know that most colleges in every state have wiccan groups, and if you can not find one, i'm sure you can make one and people will join. Syracuse college in New York has a group i know of, but they practice in skyclad sometimes.

I did on both of mine.

Many college clubs have a Pagan or Wiccan club- the one at my school when I was there sucked.

I would list it under "other" as other posters suggested. I wouldn't sign as "pagan" or "wiccan" just in case of prejudice.
As far as college groups, a lot of colleges have groups. One good place to find them is witchvox.com. If you want, go to www.witchvox.com, select your state (it's a pull down option on the left side of the screen) It'll take you to the homepage for whatever state (or country) you live in. From there if you look on the left there'll be a listing for college groups.

The only place I've noticed that question is on a hospital admissions form. And, yes, I wrote: Wiccan where it asked for religious affiliation.
