The permiter of a circle is pi * the circle's diameter.

Well, you only have 1/2 of a circle, so the formula for the permiter would be
1/2 * (pi) * d PLUS D
The first half of the equasion would be for the curvy part, the arc, the second part would be for the straight diameter.
So you have
1/2*(pi)*10 + 10
that's about 25.71

(NINI's wrong because she found the permiter of just the arc part of the circle, NOT the straight part which would also be counted... and she's a math major?)

The circumference of a circle is Pi * diameter. So the circumference of half the circle is Pi*d/2. To calculate the perimeter you must add the length of the diameter.

So (Pi*(10/2))+10 cm =25.708cm

Perimeter or Circumference of 1 full circle = π (or 3.142) x Diameter (or D). πD = 3.142 x 1 = 3.142 units. Perimeter of the semicircle = 1 + 1.571 = 2.571 Units.

'pi' multiplied by diameter (d) = circumference of circle.(Oce)
ie 3.1416 times 10 = Oce.
This product gives 31.416 as the Oce.
Therefore the perimeter or length of the semi circle is one half of the total perimeter or 15.708

it worries me that so many people forgot to add on the 10 at the end for the joining line across the diameter.

Formula to calcaute Perimeter of a full circle is 2*pi*r.

radius = 5 cm
pi = 3.14

P = 2 * pi * r = 2 * 3.14 * 5 = 31.4 cm

So for semi-circle, it's half of full circle.

31.4 / 2 = 15.7 cm

perimtr of a circle is 2(pi)R.....
therfore R=10/2cms=5cms
2*3.14*5=31.4cms
P=31.4cms(of circle)
therefore to find perimeter of a semicircle divide by 2......
P(semicircle)=31.4/2=15.7ms
its damn easy!!!!
