I haven't heard all of them, but here we go: Explosions in the Sky - Really good stuff. Not something I listen to all the time, but I have a couple records and I'm glad I do. Very good for a specific mood. Alice In Chains - They were my favorite band for like 3 years when they first hit. My tastes have kind of shifted, but I still enjoy checking out some Facelift or Dirt every so often. Good stuff. Meshuggah - have not heard them Built to Spill - Top 5 favorite for me. I absolutely love them, and if you ever get the chance to catch them live, take it. They put on a really great show. Also, not sure if you're new to them (you mentioned since you got to R&P), but Doug Martsch has a solo record that I enjoy a lot too. Mostly acoustic, really interesting stuff. Mr. Bungle - I had the first record and enjoyed it a lot. I lost it and got nostalgic from talking about Faith No More recently and picked up a couple tracks that I really remembered fondly (on a budget) and was really happy I did. Very cool, creative act. I love Quote Unquote. Liquid Tension Experiment - haven't heard them, but they have a really interesting name. APC - I've heard a couple tracks and they're ok. Not so much my thing, but I can appreciate where they are coming from. Good band for sure. Orbital - I know I heard some of their stuff back in the day, but I can't really remember what was them and what was other stuff. Massive Attack - Actually, you've just reminded me that I meant to get some Tricky a couple months ago and kind of put it on the back burner without thinking about it. I should do that. I have Mezzanine and Blue Lines and think they're good when I'm in the right mood. There is a perfect mood with me for that stuff, unfortunately it's just a lot rarer that I'm in it these days. Really good stuff though. Saxon Shore - Haven't heard them.

None of these bands are satanic. Just because a band sings about satan doesn't make them satanists. Its all just entertainment. The guy above said Deicide is a satanic band, but in fact Glenn Benton is a catholic. Deicides songs are just for shock value and entertainment. You cant take metal to seriously.

None of them as far as I know. The only one I've ever heard that actually SAID he was a satanist was King Diamond, the solo artist and singer for Mercyful Fate.. and I'm still not convinced he is. He seems too cartoonish to be one IMHO.

Not really

Satanists are people who worship Satan. None of the members of those bands worship Satan. Ergo, none of them are Satanists. Lordi are pretty anti-satan (one of their songs is called "devil is a loser"). The only band which could even be considered satanic is cradle of filth - and their references to satanism are very few and far between, and their use of satanic imagery is mostly for shock value.

Nirvana- NO.
Lordi- NO.
Metallica- NO.
Motorhead- NO.
Cradle of filth- Is sometimes perceived as satanic by casual observers, although its outright lyrical references to satanism are few and far between, and its use of satanic imagery has arguably always had more to do with the shock value than any seriously-held beliefs.

No, I don't think any of them are actually satanic... If any of them were, I'd probably say Cradle Of Filth, but I think they're music's just really dark.

I hear Kenny G has very subtle satanic messages in his songs, not as many a Zamphir though.

Are you kidding? No.

They're evil. Black metal is supposed to be evil.

Nirvana, Metallica, and Motorhead I have no idea where you got it from.
